Stretch before you shovel
It’s important not to pull your low back muscles while you shovel now. Follow these simple steps before getting started. 1) Bend over, relax your back for 60 seconds. 2) Never lift more than one half of a shovel full. 3) Never do a bend/lift/twist combo. Instead bend at the knees and hips and lift the snow out straight in front of you, then turn your entire body to dump the snow. *It may take longer, but your back will thank you for it!
